Family cakes in brown sauce are cakes that are a mixture of meatballs and medister cakes. They taste good, are juicy and with an old-fashioned brown sauce it makes a lovely Sunday dinner.
250 g chop dough
250 medister farce
1 1/2 ts salt
1/2 ts pepper
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ginger
2 1/2 tablespoons potato flour
2 dl milk
Knead all the ingredients together well in a food processor. Form cakes and fry them brown on both sides in butter, before adding them to the brown sauce and allowing them to finish soaking there.
Old Fashioned Brown Sauce:
2 tablespoons butter
2 ss mel
4-5 dl power / broth or water and fund
Salt and pepper
Brown the butter until it is nut brown, add the flour and stir evenly all the time. Use medium heat and cook until it is brown.
Remove the pan from the heat and add half the heat. Stir well so that there are no lumps. Add the rest of the power when the sauce is smooth. Cook for 10 minutes and add in other flavorings, such as. onion.
Serve family cakes in brown sauce, with boiled potatoes and optional vegetables, e.g. beans.
