Beef steak with onions

Seibiff with onions is one of the old Norwegian traditional dishes and you can find it in the freezer counter. A little secret is that it gets both better and cheaper when you make it yourself.

2 løk i strimler

100 g smør til løken

1 kg seifilet i porsjonsstykker

200 g hvetemel

4 ss smør til fisken

1 ts salt

1/2 ts malt pepper

Fry the onion in 100 g butter. It gets sweeter and better the longer it cooks.

Mix flour, salt and pepper. Cut the onion into slices and fry it in plenty of butter until golden brown. Turn the fish in the flour mixture and fry in butter, on medium heat until it gets a nice crust.

Spread the onion over the fish and let it simmer in the pan for a few minutes.

Serve seibiff with onions and optional potatoes and vegetables. I have chosen boiled carrots and potato puree, which you can find the recipe for here.
