Whale steak with blue-skimmed potatoes is a tasty, but not so common combination. I've served it with butter-steamed mini carrots and fried onions and mushrooms. The potatoes mean that there is no need for sauce as well.
Blue skim potatoes:
800 g boiled potatoes
4 dl cream
1 finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon vegetable stock
150 g blue skim cheese, in small pieces
Salt and white pepper
Peel and cut the potatoes into coarse sticks and boil them in water a saucepan for 1 minute. Pour off the water and place the potato sticks into a baking dish. Boil cream with onions, funds and cheese. Season with salt and pepper and pour the mixture over the potatoes. Put the mold in the oven at 200 degrees and let the blue-skim potatoes be gratinated until they get nice color and are cooked through. It takes about 30 min.
The whale:
200 – 250 g whale steak per person
Salt and pepper
Season the steaks with salt and pepper and fry them 3 min. on every page. If you use a thermometer, it is medium fried on 51 greder.
