Brioche is French yeast bread, which has a delicious yellow color. It is said that the color comes from a lot of eggs and a lot of butter in the dough, but I have given this dough a little extra help, by adding carrot juice.
1 kg of wheat flour
100 g melted butter
1 pk yeast
3 egg
3 dl carrot juice
2 tablespoons sugar
1 dl milk
Knead everything well together. Check if more flour or milk is needed. The dough should be able to be baked out, but be quite moist. Let it rise with cloth over in min. 1 hour, until the dough is double in size. Bake out sausage breads of the desired size and place them on a baking tray, covered with baking paper. I have used 100 g of dough per loaf.
Let the breads rise under a cloth for 30 minutes, before you brush them with milk, sprinkle on sesame seeds and bake them at 200 degrees, a little far down in the oven for about 15 minutes until they have a nice color both above and below. Cool on a rack.
We often serve the sausages with homemade shrimp salad. You can find the recipe for it here.
