Fletteloff looks delicious and this recipe gives two fluffy and yummy loaf. It's not just in Norway that braided offs are made. In Denmark, they are called fletbrød.
125 g butter
6 dl milk
1 pk yeast
1 egg
1 kg of wheat flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 ts salt
Melt butter and pour in milk, dissolve yeast in the mixture and add beaten egg.

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and add the milk mixture. Knead well and let the dough rest, covered, in a warm place until it has at least doubled. Divide the dough into 2 equal parts and each of them into three equal parts, which are rolled out into even sausages. Merge three and three sausages, so you get two braids. Place them on parchment paper-covered baking sheet or in bread pans and let them rise to the desired size for a minimum of 30 minutes. Bake at 190 degrees for 30-40 minutes. Then brush with a mixture of beaten egg and milk. Sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds before the egg mixture dries. Cool on a rack.
