Meatloaf is probably one of the most American I can think of. It is a kind of meat pudding, but with ketchup as a flavoring. This meatloaf has got a tomato icing as well and I think it goes well with mashed potatoes and peas.
1 kg minced meat, family dough (mixture of pork and beef)
2 onions, finely chopped
2 store egg
6 cloves garlic, finely chopped
6 ss ketchup
2 dl panko (stravkavring)
6 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
1 dl milk
1 ts salt
3 teaspoons Italian spices
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon malt paprika
Knead all the ingredients for the pudding well together, pour the mixture into a loaf pan and bake at 200 degrees for 40 minutes.
Glaze:
2 dl ketsjup
1.5 teaspoons white wine vinegar
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 ts salt
Mix all the ingredients in a small bowl. Spread the sauce over the pudding, then put it back in the oven and bake for another 20 minutes. Let the pudding rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Pour power from the loaf pan over when serving.
You will find a perfect recipe for mashed potatoes that you can serve for meatloaf here . If you use canned peas, you can just boil them in a saucepan in its power, strain them and then they are ready to serve.
