My grandmother made amazing pickles. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get her recipe, but I am constantly trying to find the perfect recipe. This is my favorite so far. Pickles taste good, both on the slice of bread and for many kinds of dinner dishes, e.g. Christmas food.
Fresh pickles
Carrots, peeled and cut into thin slices
Cauliflower, divided into small bouquets
Beans, cleaned and divided into 3
Frozen peas
Beets, beets or polka dots, divided into cubes
1 dl vinegar
2 dl sugar
3 dl water
1 tablespoon whole pepper
1 tablespoon mustard seeds
3 bay leaves
1 fist crown dill
Day 1: Boil brine of 1 ltr. water and 100 g of salt. Cool it, prick the cucumbers with a fork and place them in the sheet. It should be left for 24 hours before it is picked up and wiped off.
Boil vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper, mustard seeds and water, stirring occasionally. Layer all the vegetables, crown dill and bay leaves in a Norwegian glass or jar. Pour the boiling sheet over the vegetables and allow to cool to room temperature. Put the lid on and store in the fridge for at least 2 days before serving.
