Tartiflette

Tartiflette is a French dish with a lot and strong cheese flavor. It tastes good for lunch, with a small salad, or as an evening snack. You can order Reblochon both at Meny and at Spar. If you prefer a "kinder" cheese, you can use brie or camembert.

This recipe is suitable for 6 servings.

2 kg potatoes of a type that does not boil to pieces

500 g Reblochon or other tasty sliced cheese

2 large onions, finely chopped

300 g dry-salted bacon cut into oblong pieces

4 ss fresh creams

Salt and pepper

Grated nutmeg

1 dl white wine

1 1/2 cloves garlic, finely chopped

Peel the potatoes and cook until tender. Cool them and cut them into slices.

Fry the bacon in a large frying pan until they start to turn golden, add to the onion. Add oil if the pan becomes too dry. Cook until the onion is golden. Add garlic, potatoes, sour cream and white wine and season with salt and pepper. Bring to the boil and simmer for a few minutes.

Rub the inside of serving tins with oil and pour half of the potato mixture into the tins. Distribute half of the cheese slices in the molds. Add a new layer of potatoes and finally the rest of the cheese.

Put the molds in the oven at 200 degrees for approx. 20 minutes until the surface is golden brown and bubbly. Serve piping hot, preferably with a salad.
