Czech Republic

Czech food traditions are influenced by the countries they have been a part of and neighboring countries. The oldest food ingredients used by the Czechs today are lentils, millet, cumin, cinnamon and ginger.

The Hungarians brought goulash while the Habsburgs introduced small pastries known as halusky.

Knedliky (potato dumplings) with sauce, meat, cheese, garlic and beer is one of the most common combinations in Czech cuisine.
