A birthday dinner for the 50-year-old is a special occasion, because when you turn 50, you have to choose a little on the top shelf when you have a family dinner. I chose an appetizer with smoked salmon, which I think is particularly good. You can find the recipe HERE.
For starters we drank a delicious Petit Chablis.
For the main course, I chose beaker swing lamb, or the battle for the green goo. This lamb dish is tasty and enjoys you in the oven while I can do other things for so long. The recipe can be found HERE.
For the main course a Barbera d'Alba from Superiore 2012 from Brezza, which is the vineyard we stay at when we are in Barolo.
For dessert, we ate chocolate-covered rhubarb and strawberry ice cream with strawberry coulis. The recipe for the dessert can be found HERE.
For dessert we drank a beautiful Tommasi from 2013.
