Horns with cheese and ham filling are a delicious lunch dish and great to take on a trip. This recipe gives 32 horns.
Dough:
50 g yeast
50 g butter
6 dl milk
2 egg
4 tablespoons sugar
1 ts salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 kg mel
Melt the butter and pour in the milk. Allow the mixture to warm to the touch and mix in the yeast. Knead all the ingredients well together, preferably for 15 minutes.
Cover with plastic or a clean kitchen towel, and leave to rise in a warm place until the dough has doubled in size. It takes approx. 1 hour.
Fill:
1 small can of pizza sauce, or make your own
32 slices of cheese
32 slices of cooked ham
Divide the dough into 4 parts and roll each part flat and round. Cut each loaf into 8 triangles.
Cover baking tray with parchment paper. Add 1 teaspoon of sauce, 1 slice of cheese and a slice of ham to each triangle. Roll the triangles from the wide side towards the tip. Form into horns and place them with the tip down on the baking tray. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and leave to rise in a warm place until they have doubled in size.
1 egg and 1/2 dl milk for brushing
2 tablespoons sesame seeds for garnish
Lightly beat eggs and milk together. Brush the horns with the mixture. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and bake the horns in the middle of the oven at 225 degrees for approx. 10 minutes. Cool on a rack.

If you want coarser horns, you can replace up to half of the flour with whole wheat.
