Tanzania has food traditions that vary greatly by geographical region. Along the coast, the food is well seasoned and they use a lot of coconut milk. Further inland, a lot of wali (rice), ugali (corn porridge), nyama choma (grilled meat), mshikaki (marinated beef), samaki (fish), pilau (rice mixed with a seasoning), biriyani and ndizi nyama (plantanas with meat) are eaten.

Okra is widely used as a vegetable and they grow almost 20 varieties of bananas, which are used for soup, stew and chips.
