Cajun beef or chicken with salad is from Louisiana in the USA. Cajuns are descendants of expelled populations from Nova Scotia and New Brunswick and have their own distinctive food traditions.
Cajun food tastes great and exciting and now Santa Maria has made it easier for those who want to try, with its own cajun spice.
Start with marinating the meat:
1 dl neutral oil (corn / rapeseed)
2 finely chopped garlic cloves
1 dried, crushed chili
3 tablespoons cajun spices and
1/2 ts pepper
Mix everything in a bread bag. Cut the meat into smaller pieces and mix it with the marinade. Tie the bag and leave it in the fridge until the next day, before putting it in a refractory form and putting it in the oven at 200 degrees for 20 minutes.
Iceberg lettuce, finely shredded
Spring onion, finely shredded
Mini tomatoes divided into 4
1 packet of beans that have been boiled quickly, cooled in ice water and cut into 2 cm pieces.
Fresh herbs when serving and here I have used coriander
Served with yogurt (and hot chipotle sauce for the brave).
