Chinese BBQ chicken

Chinese BBQ chicken has a lot of flavor, without being strong (if you don't want it even then). I have served this dish with rice, but you can use noodles instead.

Start with the marinade:

5 finely chopped garlic cloves

1 cm finely chopped fresh ginger

2,5 dl hoisin sauce

1,75 dl sherry wine

1.75 dl soy sauce

1.75 dl sugar

1⁄2 ts chinese fivespicekrydder

Mix all the ingredients for the marinade in a bowl until the sugar is dissolved.

500 g chicken fillet in strips is placed in the marinade, preferably overnight, but at least 1 hour.


1 shredded onion

1 shredded red onion

2 shredded peppers

1 box of bamboo shoots

1 box pineapple

1 box of water chestnuts

The chicken fillet is fished out of the marinade and quickly browned in oil in a wok or frying pan with high edges, together with the onion.

Add the marinade from the chicken, red onion, bamboo shoots and water chestnuts and let it cook for a few minutes, so the red onion no longer tastes raw. Add paprika, let it soak for a couple of minutes. Serve Chinese BBQ chicken with rice or noodles.
