Deer stew

We have bought half a deer in recent years and divided and ground the dough ourselves. The deer can be used for many different things and here is the recipe for deer stew. I like to make a double portion and freeze it for easy dinners later.

1 power bone from the deer (possibly game fund, if you do not have a knuckle)

1.5 kg of venison (front portion)

1 onion, finely chopped

12 large diced potatoes

1 leek in rings

1 small celery root in small cubes

4 large sliced carrots

Game fund, salt and pepper

Parsley, finely chopped

The venison is divided into cubes, browned and cooked for a minimum of 2 hours, together with the onion, kraft bone and water, add the leeks, celery root, carrots and large potatoes. Cook for another half hour and season with salt, pepper and possibly. wildlife fund. Stir in parsley just before serving.

Served with flatbread.
