Chocolate decorations look more advanced than they are. I usually make a little when I first start and store it in an airtight container in the fridge until I need to use them.
Melt the desired chocolate in a bowl over a hot water bath. Pour the chocolate onto a piece of baking paper, spread it out a little with the spatula and sprinkle on the desired decoration. I have used pistachios, cake sprinkles and rasberry crumble. Put the chocolate decoration in the cold until it has hardened completely, before breaking it into suitable pieces.
