Twix cake is not usually served, but most people have probably tasted Twix chocolate. If you think it's good, you'll definitely like this ice cream cake, which consists of a biscuit base, a caramel ice cream and chocolate drizzled over the top.
If you can't get hold of dulce de leche, you can buy sweetened condensed milk and boil the whole can in water for 3 hours. You can find the recipe for it HERE .
This recipe is suitable for 8-12 people, depending on how big you eat.
Biscuit base:
200 g Digestive biscuits
100 g butter
Crush the biscuits finely. Melt the butter and mix well. Press the mixture into a springform pan, covered with parchment paper. Put in the freezer until the ice is to rise.
Carmel:
400 dulce de leche
1 dl whipped cream
5 dl milk
1 good pinch of salt
Heat the dulche de leche and cream slowly in a saucepan until the caramel has melted. Take the pan off the plate, add milk and salt and set the mixture to cool. Run the mixture in an ice machine, or put it in the freezer and stir every half hour, until it is semi-rigid, before pouring it over the biscuit mixture. Put in the freezer again and let the ice cream completely freeze.
The chocolate:
100 g milk chocolate
Melt the chocolate in a water bath. Use a teaspoon to drizzle it over the ice. Fill the teaspoon with chocolate and release it from a little height, while moving your hand back and forth over the ice.
Put the twixi cake back in the freezer, take it out a few minutes before it is to be eaten, remove it from the mold and place it on a plate.
