Old-fashioned brown sauce is suitable for many traditional Norwegian dishes, such as meatballs, cutlets, meatloaf, roast, game and whale steak.
2 tablespoons butter
2 ss mel
4-5 dl power / broth or water and fund
Salt and pepper
Brown the butter until it is nut brown. Add the flour and stir evenly all the time. Use medium heat and cook until it is suitably brown.
Remove the pan from the heat and add half the heat. Stir well so that there are no lumps. Add the rest of the power when the sauce is smooth. Cook for 10 minutes and add in other flavorings, such as. onion.
