Grilled skewers with orange sauce

Grilled skewers with orange sauce taste fresh and good in the summer heat. These are made with beef, onion and paprika and in addition to the sauce, I serve with grilled corn on the cob.

Sauce:

Peel and juice of 4 oranges

1,5 dl sukker

3 ss vann

3 ss eplesidereddik

2 ss soyasaus

1 ss kalve- eller kyllingfond

2 ss brun maisennajevner

75 g smør

Rinse the oranges in lukewarm water and peel them with a cheese grater or potato peeler (NB! Only the yellow). Cut the peel into thin strips.

Boil sugar and water on low heat until almost caramelized. Add the vinegar and let it boil for a few minutes. Add the orange juice and the peel and let it boil for a few minutes before straining. Save on the strips.

Add the soy sauce and stock, stir in the cornstarch and let it boil for a minute. 1 minute. Add the butter, stir until melted, before adding the orange strips and serving.

Grillspydene:

150 – 200 g storfekjøtt (indre-, ytrefilet eller mørbrad) per person

Onions in large pieces

Peppers in large chunks

Cut the meat into large cubes and put it in the BBQ sauce, preferably overnight. If you use wooden skewers, these must sit in water for a while before you use them, so they don't catch fire. Thread meat, onion and peppers onto the skewers, place them on a hot grill and turn them often. The meat should be pink inside, just like steak, so don't grill it for too long.

Served with corn and e.g. baked pearl potatoes, for which you can find the recipe HERE .
