Sticky rice

Sticky rice is used in many dishes in Southeast Asia. This is the basic recipe. It is important that you use suitable rice, it must contain a lot of gluten.

250 g rice (ask in an Asian store, so you get one that gets sticky)

Water

The night before the rice is to be used, add it well with water.

When the rice is to be used, it is placed in a bamboo steamer with a lid, which in turn is placed on a pot of boiling water, so the rice evaporates. The time it takes depends on the amount of rice, but from approx. 20 minutes and up. Be careful when checking if the rice is ready, because the steam gets insanely hot.
