Caramel cakes may look a bit like oat flakes, but I think they taste much better. This is one of the oldest cookies in my old handwritten cookbook.
4 dl sugar
1 dl cream
1 dl syrup (heated)
3 dl melted butter
4 dl oatmeal
4 dl mel
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
Mix everything together and place with two spoons on parchment paper-lined baking tray. Set them at a good distance, for they flow outward when frying.
Bake at 180 degrees for 10 min and cool completely, before moving into tight box.
In addition to the fact that caramel cakes taste good for coffee, they are also perfect accompaniments for dessert, e.g. ice cream, cloudberry cream, etc.
