Horseradish herring tastes fresh and good and appeals to most people. If you have never cooked herring before, this is a good place to start.
8 bacon fillets
5 dl sour cream
2 tablespoons grated horseradish
4 sour diced apples
1 bunch finely chopped chives
Soak herring in water for 2 days. Dry it and break it into fork-tender pieces. Mix all the ingredients for horseradish herring and leave it cold for at least 2 days before eating it.
