San Marino shares many culinary traditions with Italy. They use a lot of pasta (eg tagliatelle, lasagne, ravioli and canelloni) . Rabbit, chicken, scallops and veal are widely used. The food is often served with pyada (pita bread), a traditional polenta and excellent local cheeses. They have several traditional soups, including bobolotti, which is a soup with beans, bacon and pasta.
For dessert, it is customary to serve cake.
